Additional Specifications
Frequency Band: Full-range neodymium speakers XdB bass-enhancement technology
Strengths: Good sound quality, small size, portable.
Weakness: The steps you have to go thru to power it up. Remote does not control menu on Zune unit.
All in all a nice unit to use to get room filling sound from your Zune. As mentioned, the powering up procedure must be done in the order as listed. Seems like you should just be able to put the Zune in the dock, but it is not that simple. Suggest that you might read other reviews before purchasing to get both the pluses and minuses.
Strengths: The speaker system is small enough to fit in tight spaces.
Weakness: The low sound could use some improvement.
The setup of this system was a little hectic to say the least but eventually I was able to complete setup. I was surprised that the sound from this system is weak and can only be heard in the room where placed. I am seeking a way to connect the system to other speakers.
Strengths: Narrow compact size. Wall Mountable Price
Weakness: Controls are hard to master. Bass and Treble controls don't do much.
This is not a perfect unit by any means. It has both good and bad points. Positives: I think the price is very reasonable. I paid around $85.00 for this and with some of the others that I compared this unit with I thought it was pretty reasonable. The size of the unit is also a plus. It's not some giant behemoth like the JBL or Bose models. I also like the fact that this can be wall mountable....
Strengths: Great size and design. BIG, clear sound. Storage slot for remote. Perfect dock for Zune, but can be used with most any MP3 player with cable included.
Weakness: Only weakness is not optionally battery operated for use when not near an electric plug like some of the other models they sell!
I really like this Zune docking station. Has great sound for a portable! Adjustable bass and treble. Is attractive and has some nice features, like the little slot to keep the remote in when not in use so it doesn't disappear! and the included/optional wall hanging bracket. It can also be used for any other MP3 player with the included cable that goes in earphone jack. (I have not tried this out...
Strengths: -Good base sound; crisp and clear; for small size; from low to high volume -compact/portable -works with Zune 80 after easily removing plastic base adapter -Easy setup -compatible with most other mp3
Weakness: -remote: +very basic; limited features +power button turns on and off the speaker system but NOT the Zune +cannot navigate the menus
For the low prices for these, compared to high prices for ipod speakers such as Bose for iPod $299, this is such a great value. Got mine for under $50 and all has been worthwile. Could use an optional battery compartment for more portability.
Strengths: great sound
Weakness: not also battery operated
great speaker for the house, deck or office. The only weakness is the size makes it too large to be really protable. If your looking for something that can be folded up and is also battery operated, this is not for you. But it is a great sounding speaker if you want one that you can plug in for the house, deck or office. I would buy again.
Strengths: Nice build quality, video and sync pass throughs, included remote
Weakness: Good, but not great, sound
There are so many choices of speaker docks for the iPod but not nearly as many for the Zune. Of course, the iPod outsold the Zune by about 100:1. After getting a 30GB Zune at an incredible price from Woot!, I jumped at the opportunity to get the Altec Lansing speakers from the same company at an equally unbelievable price. The Zune sits vertically in a dock in front of the speakers. If you want...
Strengths: looks, sound, remote, lights up when you change volume-treble-bass!(so you can tell from a distance where the level is), This can also be used to amplify non-Zune mp3players!
Weakness: I just wish they included the free wall bracket in the box instead of me having to order it( which they are backordered now) the provided stereo mini-jack extension cord is too short, IMHO
reviewers; ProductTester and JackieB157 said the setup was either hectic or not simple enough. I will assume thats why they gave this a sub 4-star rating, Bah! this thing was a cream puff to start and operate. BTW they are the only reviewers that give this a sub 4-star rating...hmmm) I got mine from Buy.com for $50 shipped! don't settle for less, buy it you wont regret it, it sounds great!
Strengths: Good sound for the price, Charges the Zune, Sync cable output, works with other mp3 players through the headphone port cable
Weakness: None so far
I've read many reviews that say this is not compatible with the new zunes. This is far from the truth. I am using this with the new 80 gb zune and it plays and charges the device, eliminating the need for an ac adapter. You just have to pop off the cover on the dock to fit the new zunes. Good sound for a one room application. Not loud enough to fill more than a room. Sound is good until you crank...

Overall Pretty Good
Strengths: Decent sound, not bad looking.
Weakness: none yet
This thing is great!!! Who needs a stereo when you have this. I find it nice to look at and to listen to. For the price I paid I am very happy with this. I didn't find it hard to set up but I suppose that some people might. Would buy another but money is a little tight this time of year.
