Software Name: Paint Shop Pro Photo v.XI
Upgrade Information: Not Applicable
Software Main Type: Graphics/Multimedia
Strengths: Good features, fairly easy to use, supports raw.
Weakness: Slow performance
I've been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 for some time. Unfortunately, Adobe is not providing any more updates or patches for it, and it won't work properly on Vista. I tried out Elements 5.0 and didn't find it to be any real improvement over Elements 3.0. So, I thought to try out Corel PaintShop Pro Photo XI, and liked it immediately. With the 11.2 update, most raw formats for digital...
Strengths: I liked Paint Shop Pro X, and the keyboard shortcuts are great for those who are already familiar with Adobe PhotoShop.
Weakness: Not as powerful as Adobe Photoshop, but a decent substitute--when it is not running so slow as to paralyze your computer.
Corel's Paint Shop Pro X was my first Paint Shop Pro application. I liked how a lot of the keyboard shortcuts were very similar to how Adobe Photoshop was set up. It sounded like there was a bunch of neat futures in this application, but I couldn't tell you. Every time I try to run it, it runs incredibly slow, and I have 2 GB of RAM, and a AMD Athlon X2 5200+ (dual-core) processor. Corel's web...
Strengths: Great Prices
Weakness: None
Statified Customer. Used trial version. Would recommend to all friends, family, distant relatives, the military, strangers, etc, ect, etc. Thank you for this great purchase. I am so happy to save money in tough times like this. God Bless you Price Grabber
Strengths: Pretty versatile, does a lot
Weakness: A little slow, and some things hard to figure out
Its a good program but it takes somegetting used to. I came from and older version of Adobe Photoshop, and upgraded to this. I have been pleased with the quality of what I can do, but I am still learning the ins and outs. It has the option to add lots of custom brushes, that's always a plus. In the end, I would spend the $ to buy it again.
Strengths: Price. Features. Nice manual. Automatic updates (when available). Free upgrade to Snapfire Plus add-on (requires rebate).
Weakness: Requires a PC with lots of RAM (at least 2GB) and good video card for good performance.
I have been using PSP since the early days with JASC (before Corel took over). Corel have not improved the program much to be honest, and have added several bells and whistles at the expense of functionality. Having said that, you can find this program on sale for very cheap every now and then (next to nothing after rebate), which is a steal. If you are not a professional requiring Photoshop, I...
Strengths: Lots of power, handles PhotoShop plugins fine
Weakness: Sizeable learning curve, like most photo-editing software
I like having options. I have both PaintShop Pro and the latest version of Photoshop Elements. Each has its strengths. I use them both equally, depending on the job at hand. Neither is a quick study. Both are caked with menu options and sidebars (many of which you can customize, hide, etc), which tends to erode the available screen space for actual image editing. If you can afford it, and your...
Strengths: installation easy; Not seeing any computer slow down when running the software; price is good after rebate.
Weakness: None so far. I am still looking to find something great and easy to use
I am still learning to use this software. I have used corel photo shop pro before. comparatively, the user interface is far better in print shop pro. I am happy that this software didn't cause my computer to hang. I have only 512Mb ram.
Strengths: Incorporates almost everything anyone would wish to do with their photos.
Weakness: Not as easy as other programs for "beginners" such as myself, however, with the included instructions I am sure that with time and practice I will have lots of fun "fixing" my photos.
Check back with me in a few months after I have had time to learn and incorporate all of the many options this program allows. For now this program is far more advanced than I am. Ha!
Strengths: useful instruction disk
Weakness: slow at the beginning
This software for some reason is slow at the beginning but it becomes much faster a few hours later. It is cheaper than Adobe Photoshop and PSP and the quality is much improved compared with the other versions. The software comes with the driver for most digital cameras and scanners. This software is highly recommended for basic graph and photograph editing.

Paint Shop Pro XI
Strengths: Learning Center, Price, Professional Editing without Brain Drain, Animal Red Eye Removal, Tutorial CD, and many fans with Forums
Weakness: Organizer can bog down your computer. 3rd party remote host PSIService
I’ve used Paint Shop Pro 7 thru 10 with each generation having new features. Paint Shop Pro XI is a great photo editor. I like to work with photos individually. From using fun Filters to adding Text. Deleting unwanted objects to fixing broken smiles. I have Photoshop C2 and it’s amazing how Paint Shop Pro can almost equal the same results for a few hundred dollars less. The learning curve is...
