Worth the money

Strengths: Small, large array of 3rd party apps available, sturdy build, perfect fit for hand, nice protective cover.

Weakness: Slow, small, no keyboard, limited to addon's for ARM processors. Hardware failure.

I got this for 130 when buy.com was trying to get rid of all of theirs. I bought it for the sole reason of having a little portable web browser. While the 770 is a bit slow and the browser does not support a few java script sites or youtube, it still is a very nice gadget. I think I got more than what I payed for the device and I am happy overall with my purchase. My personal favorite 3rd party...

Good portable web surfing device

Strengths: Compact size, high resolution LCD, convenient web surfing

Weakness: Using RS-MMC, small fonts, unprotected power button

I bought this Nokia 770 internet tablet when it was on sale. It is a great small product with which you can do a lot of things such as surfing web, watching videos, listening to music, text editing, etc. The LCD is small but has good resolution. Fonts are very clear, though a little small. Especially, you can even view pdf format professional papers with formulas and figures! The biggest...

Nokia 770 - Great product!

Strengths: Extremely convenient, handy and portable. Great detection of available wireless networks. Lightweight and has a protective silver case for the screen. Has zoom feature & reads PDF files.

Weakness: Must install applications to access some functions; separate desk-stand; uses hard-to-find RS-MMC card, only a 64MB card is included. Java Script is not supported.

I love this gadget because now I don't need to lug my heavy laptop around campus or look for an available computer in a lab to check emails, surf, or look up something. It boots up fairly quick, and you get connected in no time. Installation of applications was not too bad, but was a bit confusing as to what to enter in the required fields before/during installation - you need to Google up the...

Good internet device

Strengths: portable, lightweight, decent size screen, good wireless signal

Weakness: uses RS-MMC card, screen looks grainy sometimes

This is a great device to surf the internet while on the go. I'm always at airports and I find this device is more convinient and portable for checking my emails and web surfing rather than using my laptop. The screen is of decent size and looks good for viewing. But at certain angles, the screen does look somewhat grainy. Wireless signal strength is awsome. The nokia 770 internet tablet suits my...

Nice websurfing appliance

Strengths: Lightweight, great screen, great 3rd party app support

Weakness: Can be slow at times, flash / javascript support a little iffy, battery life

Got this tablet on a reduced price (had my eye on it when it first came out). Great tool to websurf and check RSS feeds. The screen on the tablet is gorgeous, and the best thing about this. Full web pages can be viewed with the browser (modified Opera). It's lightweight, charges in a flash and is portable enough to take on trips in lieu of a laptop. Additionally, there's a great developer...

Great tool for internt access

Strengths: solid and heavy design. embedded linux system allows user to install other apps from its website or 3rd party. easy to operate. best for checking email, online radio, browsing and instant messenger.

Weakness: no software turn-off key and Skype not available. youtube watching is not supported and rs-mmc card is just 64m. bigger one like 2GB is a must to purchase. softwares are buggy.

it is a very good product overall and very suitable for light user to access internet at home or other hot spot available places such as airport, hotel, cafe and public library.

Excellent internet access device

Strengths: Small size, works beautifully, inexpensive, high resolution

Weakness: Too small for eyes, some weakness in security

The Nokia 770 is an excellent internet access device. I was able to go to all kinds of web pages with it including high security web stock trading web sites. E-bay complained that I was not using full security setting, but others did not even complain. The device allows you to set it up with all sorts of wifi security setting like WPA, WEP etc. The screen resolution at 800 pixel width allows you...

Nokia 770 internet tablet - good and bad

Strengths: WiFi and bluetooth capable; large screen relative to other PDAs; low price while on clearance; high resolution; good body design; additional 3rd party software

Weakness: MMC flash card is a bade idea; low CPU speed; screen not clear; low battery capacity

This unit is a good match for those who want a cheap gadget to surf the internet at airports, hotels, etc. The screen makes it a good choice comparing to a typical PDA because its resolution is higher than the iPhone. WiFi is fairly fast and it picks up signals very well. The body is very well made. The software is basic but can be augmented by downloading 3rd party Linux applications. The Opera...

What a great unit for the price!

Strengths: coolness factor, easy surfing, quick on.

Weakness: battery life? (hasn't been a issue yet)

Ok, so I bought this because of the price. Sure, it's cheap since it's discontinued, but wow, does it work. It's not the fastest, and the screen is a bit small, but it works just fine. It's now in my bag at all times and around my couch at home. I'm the type that likes to surf while watching a movie to get facts etc. IMDB is your friend. This is much more convenient than firing up a laptop etc....

Pretty good internet tablet.

Strengths: High Res Display. User Friendly Interface. Audio, Video Streaming. Hard keys for frequently used features. Instant startup from standby mode. Hand writing entry. Huge virtual keyboard for fingers.

Weakness: Too many applications can make it crawl. Special RS-MMC cards. Bit heavy. Design flaw in stylus location.

I think this device is excellent value for the price I paid for it - $129.00 @ woot. Did I say gorgeous crisp high res screen. Beautiful colors and back light. Nokia used lots of common sense in designing the ( hardware and software )interface for this device. Everything is very intuitive and easy to grasp. Opens a huge virtual keyboard for the fingers or a small keyboard for the stylus. Placing...

Nokia 770

It came to market later than planned, but the pocket-sized Nokia 770 feels like a worthwhile experiment in portable computing. The 8.1-ounce unit is a bit larger and heavier than a high-end PDA. Unlike a PDA, this device wasn’t designed to keep your contacts and calendar up to date, but to be used as a secondary Wi-Fi-enabled Web surfer. Initial boot time is... <p>
